Boogaard’s Bed andBreakfast is located in Amsterdam’s scenic canal district on Pieter Jacobszstraat, which is a quiet private street just a short walk from Central Station.
Our new home was built in the 18th century, and while it retains great charm and character, it has all the modern conveniences of a 21st century home. In Boogaard’s Bed and Breakfast, our luxurious romantic bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are decorated in a classic and comfortable style. They are located on first floor with access to a wet and dessert bar filled with free soft drinks, tea and coffee. And, for the first time, we are offering central air conditioning in our rooms to ensure great sleeping conditions during the summer months.
Amsterdam has some of the finest art and history museums in the world including the famed Van Gogh Museum dedicated to the inimitable Vincent; the Rijksmuseum with its fine collection of masterpieces; the recently-opened Hermitage Museum (the only branch of the renowned Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia), and museums of special interest like the Dutch Resistance Museum, and the Anne Frank House.
Boogaard's is surrounded by some of Amsterdam's finest restaurants, pubs, and cafés, most within a five to ten minute walk. One can find a wide variety here including excellent Thai, Indonesian, Belgian, and traditional Dutch cuisine. We list our favourite ones, and include links to their current menus. But don't take just our word for it...they all have high ratings on TripAdvisor and other travel critics' sites.
There are many wonderful sights to see outside Amsterdam yet within easy reach by train. Delft, just an hour by train from Amsterdam, is a city that positively exudes old Dutch charm. Synonymous with the "Delft Blue" porcelain that's beloved worldwide, Delft also boasts painter Jan Vermeer as its native son, as well as some of The Netherlands' most iconic places: from the spacious square in the shadow of the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), to the five majestic spires of the Oude Kerk (Old Church).
